Orkun Biçen

Finance Business Partner by day, macro analyst the rest of the time. NoCashFlow is the desk where the two meet.

I'm Orkun Biçen, a Finance Business Partner based in Barcelona.

My background is corporate FP&A and controlling, with fourteen years in financial planning, management reporting, and performance analysis at senior controller level. Over that time I've worked at companies including Eczacıbaşı, ENKA, and Schneider Electric — across industrial, consumer, energy, and holding-group settings — and today in a Finance Business Partner role at a multinational. That path has taken me from Istanbul to Barcelona.

For most of that time I've also been building the engineering side of the craft — what I call finance engineering. Controlling taught me where the numbers come from; SQL, Python, and automation let me build the systems that produce and check them. In practice that means data pipelines, automated market bulletins, and analysis tools I write and run myself.

Sourced data, primary links, no fabricated numbers. When a tool or a dataset has a limit, I say so.

Markets are the constant. I've traded for twelve years — starting on Borsa İstanbul and, for most of the last decade, across the US markets, the NASDAQ and S&P. I work across equities, options, and precious metals, reading the market through both fundamentals and technicals. My crypto positions are thesis-driven, on a two-to-three-year horizon rather than intraday noise.

More recently I've put real time into AI and deep learning: courses, plus hands-on work wiring large language models into my own tools. I'm less interested in the hype than in where these systems genuinely help — and where they break.

NoCashFlow is where these threads meet: independent macro and market analysis, a short brief every morning and a deep dive each Sunday.
